Washington DC Photographer: Stephen Gosling Photography
Back in 2009 I photographed an event for the Vilcek Foundation at the residence of the Spanish Ambassador in Washington, DC. I photographed the assignment, delivered the images to the client and then blogged some shots of the event to round everything up. And to be honest; I never really thought about it again until a few weeks ago. So, a few weeks ago I got a phone call from an editor at the Washingtonian Magazine. They were writing an article about embassies and residences of ambassadors in DC. They happened to find some of my images from the event and wanted to purchase a couple of photos. We struck a deal and I delivered the images to them.
So the moral of this story is that blogging and propper keywording can make an image sell long after its initial assignment.
The below image is a screen grab of the article online. I have not yet seen the image in the printed magazine but hopefully I’ll see it soon.
